Counselling & Psychotherapy – a safe place
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is collaborative; each therapeutic conversation is unique. It’s a joint venture between client and psychotherapist.
Although the topic of conversation is the client’s world and experience, both client and therapist are active participants. It can last as long as it needs to: this is a matter of a few weeks or months, or therapy might be undertaken on a longer term open ended-basis.
All this is for client and therapist to decide together.
“The client may experience hope, precisely because therapeutic space is the only environment in which it is safe and ‘hopeful’ to be hopeless.”
